iOS Integration: Use Siri to Find Your Next Adventure
Simplifying Your Adventures
Komoot is now seamlessly integrated with Apple's App Intents framework on iOS, putting our core features right at your fingertips when you need them most. Learn how you can make the most out of this powerful integration.
Note: To use these features, your iPhone must be running iOS 16 or higher, and you need to have komoot version 2024.32.0 or later installed.
Siri Voice Commands
Interacting with komoot through Siri is now more intuitive than ever. With just a simple voice command, you can instantly access the information you need, hands-free. Try saying:
- “Find nearby hikes on komoot”
- “Find komoot rides from here”
- “Open my last planned komoot route”
Siri will deliver the details you need, making it easier than ever to embark on your next adventure.
Spotlight Integration
Komoot now integrates directly with Spotlight, Apple's built-in search feature. As you begin typing in Spotlight, relevant suggestions from komoot will appear automatically. For example, start typing “hikes,” and you might see “Nearby hikes” on komoot as a quick option. This integration allows you to find what you need in seconds.
Custom Shortcuts
Personalize your komoot experience by creating custom shortcuts with Apple’s Shortcuts app. Whether you're searching for trail running loops or planning a bike tour, you can design shortcuts that are perfectly tailored to your preferences.
Creating a custom shortcut is easy:
- Install the Shortcuts app (if it isn’t already installed on your iOS device).
- Open the Shortcuts app and tap ‘+’ to create a new shortcut.
- Tap ‘Add Action’ and then select ‘Apps’.
- Choose ‘Komoot’ and select ‘Routes’.
- Tap the ‘>’ icon to expand the options and define your shortcut parameters.
Supported Parameters Include:
- Sport: Hiking, Running, Bike Touring, Mountain Biking, Road Cycling, Gravel Riding
- Difficulty: Easy, Intermediate, Expert
- Maximum Distance to Start Point
- Duration & Distance
- Elevation Gain
- Route Type: Loop, Out and Back
- Surface: Road or Paved, Off-road
- Start From: Public Transport, Car Park
You can further customize your shortcut by selecting ‘ask each time’ for any parameter, allowing flexibility each time you use it. Once your shortcut is ready, add it to your home screen for quick and easy access.
Note: You can use komoot with Siri on iPad as well but parts of the Shortcuts app might look different on the iPadOS version.
