The "Send to device" feature has undergone improvements and is now known as "Live Sync". With Live Sync, you can seamlessly commence navigation for a Tour originally planned on the website, whether on your phone or through a Garmin device. Need to make a change in your plans? With Live Sync, you can effortlessly modify Tours while navigating on your phone and smoothly continue the Tour on your Garmin device. This flexibility extends to group Tours, where the organizer can edit the route, share it with participants, and choose the preferred device for navigation. In the komoot app on your smartphone, you'll notice a more prominent button to start navigation. If you also own a Garmin device compatible with the komoot app for Garmin, you can now use the Live-Sync-icon () to choose your preferred navigation device.

How to use Live Sync?

The Live Sync functionality can be used directly from the Route planner or through the Tour's detail page. Once you saved a Tour, this is how you can start navigation through the Tour's detail page:

  1. Click on your username.

  2. Select Tours > Planned.
  3. Open the desired Tour.
  4. Click () Navigate with device.

Choose with which connected device you want to navigate the Tour.

  1. Click on Profile ().

  2. Select Tours > Planned.
  3. Open the desired Tour.
  4. Start the navigation by clicking Navigate.
  5. In case you have a Garmin device connected to your komoot account, you will receive the option to select with which connected device you want to navigate the Tour.

Note: The selected device will be saved as the default for future Tours, but you can easily modify your selection at any time through the Live-Sync-icon (). In the future, when you're about to start a Tour, you won't just see the familiar “Navigate” button. Instead, you'll now see which device you'll be using to initiate the Tour. For instance, you might see "Navigate with phone" or "Navigate with Garmin".

The chosen device will receive a notification, allowing you to start navigation.
