As of April 1, 2023, Premium protection insurance will no longer be included in the komoot Premium subscription. Users with Premium subscriptions from Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands whose subscription renews before March 31, 2023, will be able to continue using the existing insurance coverage until their next renewal in 2024.

Why?

Our unwavering focus is on the needs of our users, and we are constantly striving to develop and optimize the most requested features, making komoot Premium an unparalleled experience. We have listened intently to the feedback of our valued Premium users and found that for the majority of them, Premium protection insurance is not a necessity or they are already sufficiently covered by other insurance policies. By making this change, we can concentrate our efforts on enhancing the features that are most valued by our users and ensure they can make the most out of every moment spent outdoors and on our platform.

Until when am I entitled to the insurance coverage?

For all Premium subscriptions taken out before or on March 31, 2023, Premium protection insurance will continue until the next renewal.

Example:

Premium subscription was taken out on June 29, 2022. The renewal date is therefore June 29, 2023. The insurance will continue to be active until this date. Unless the Premium subscription is cancelled before the renewal date, the Premium subscription will continue, but without the Premium protection insurance.
