If your Garmin device does not have the technical requirements to use the komoot App for Garmin, you can download your tours from komoot in the format of a GPX file and transfer it to your Garmin device afterwards. However, some Garmin devices can only read FIT files. In this case, the GPX file downloaded from komoot needs to be converted to a FIT file first. The file format to use may vary depending on the device.

Tip: A GPX file can be converted to a FIT file via free online tools.

Transferring Tours to your Garmin

Tip: For the easiest way to transfer your Tours to your Garmin device, we recommend using the komoot app for Garmin. You can export a Tour from komoot by opening a Tour in your komoot profile on the website and clicking the button () Export to GPS device. This will download your Tour as a GPX file, which you can then upload to your Garmin device. To do so, you need to connect your Garmin to the computer via a cable and then add the file to one of the following folders in the folder directory. 

• /Garmin/Courses
• /Garmin/NewFiles
• /Garmin/GPX 
• /Garmin/Tours

Note: The name of the folder can be different depending on the Garmin device and firmware version.

Deleting Tours from your Garmin 

To remove downloaded Tours from your Garmin device, leave the komoot app and find the "Courses" or "Activity" folder on your Garmin device. There you can delete the tour manually. Alternatively, you can connect your Garmin to your computer via a cable and then delete the Tour via the folder directory in the corresponding folder from your PC:

• /Garmin/GPX 
• /Garmin/Tours
