Photos not stored on phone
There are different reasons why you might not be able to find photos that you take with the komoot app on your phone. Here is how you can resolve this.
You have the option to take pictures during your tour directly from the komoot app. If you take photos directly within the komoot app, always make sure to save them after taking them. Depending on your smartphone, this can be done with an "OK" or a tick.
These photos are then usually saved in the folder “Pictures” on your device, as we don't always have the rights to save them in the regular image folder that stores your DCIM photos. If your pictures appear in the saved Tour, you should be able to find the photos in the “Picture” folder.
If you cannot find this folder, please consider installing a file manager. With the help of a file manager you are able to find all photos that are stored on your device.
If you can not find the pictures in one of your pictures folders, please also check for the following folder with the help of a file manager: Android/data/de.komoot.android/files/tracker/uploading/
In order to save the photos you take during your tour, komoot needs to have access to save photos in your photo folder. Please check your iPhone's privacy settings under:
- Settings
- Privacy
- Photos
- Activate "Read and write" for komoot
We can only store pictures on your phone if this feature is activated.
If you have iOS 14 on your device, please check if komoot has access to “All photos” in the privacy settings under:
- Settings
- Privacy
- Photos
- komoot
- Select “All Photos”
We are only allowed to save the pictures you take in the app on your device if this setting is selected.
