Connecting with Wahoo ELEMNT computer
You can use the komoot app on your Wahoo ELEMNT computer by setting up a connection between your komoot account and the Wahoo Elemnt Companion App. This allows you to transfer routes from komoot to the Companion app, then use them to navigate on your Wahoo ELEMNT computer. The following devices are supported:
- Elemnt
- Elemnt Bolt
- Elemnt Roam
- Elemnt Rival (Only supports upload of compatible completed workouts to komoot. Currently, no route navigation features.)
Note: Tours can only be transferred to Wahoo if the region, in which the Tour starts, is unlocked in komoot.
How to set up the connection
To connect your Wahoo with your komoot account, you need to download the Wahoo ELEMNT Companion app and log into your Wahoo account. In case you don't have a Wahoo account yet, you'll need to create one either on the Wahoo webpage or in the Wahoo ELEMNT Companion app.
1. Connect your phone to the Wahoo ELEMNT computer
- Turn on your Wahoo.
- Click the power button again to open the settings.
- Choose “Pair phone”. Your Wahoo ELEMNT computer will show a QR code on the screen.

Open the Wahoo ELEMNT Companion app.
- Go to "Settings" > "Pair a device".
- Scan the QR code shown on the device.
- Accept the Bluetooth pairing request by clicking on "Pair".
Now your Wahoo ELEMNT computer is connected to your phone.
2. Establish the connection between komoot and Wahoo

In the Wahoo ELEMNT Companion app go to "Profile".

Choose "Connected apps".
- Select "Komoot".
- You’ll be redirected to the komoot website where you need to enter your komoot account credentials and login to your account.
- Allow Wahoo access to your komoot account by clicking Grant Access.
- In the Wahoo ELEMNT Companion app go to "Profile".

Choose "Authorized Apps".
- Select "Komoot".
- You’ll be redirected to the komoot website where you need to enter your komoot account credentials and login to your account.
- Allow Wahoo access to your komoot account by clicking Grant Access.
Now the connection is established and you find your komoot Tours on your Wahoo ELEMNT computer.
Attention: To ensure you are establishing the connection to the same komoot account, that you are using on the phone, please compare the used email address in your komoot profile settings in the app: Profile > Settings () > Profile Information.
Transferring Tours between komoot and Wahoo
Transfer Tours using WiFi
Once your komoot account is linked to the ELEMNT Companion app, any planned Tours are synced to your Wahoo Cloud account and the ELEMNT Companion app and they can be synced directly to an ELEMNT computer from the user's Wahoo cloud account if within range of a saved WiFi network. The process for setting the device up on WiFi can be found here in the Wahoo Support Center.
Once set up on a local WiFi network and when within range of that network, all planned komoot Tours will sync on startup or can be manually synced on an ELEMNT computer.
To manually sync:
- Navigate to the Maps page.
- Press the bottom left button "Route" (or three dots) then "Choose a route".
- Scroll down to "Synced X mins ago" line at the top of the routes list.
- Press the bottom middle button "SYNC".
Transfer Tours using Bluetooth
If not within range of a WiFi network, planned Tours can be synced individually from the ELEMNT companion app to an ELEMNT computer. Ensure Bluetooth is active on the Smartphone as well as on the Wahoo device. You will find planned komoot Tours automatically in the Wahoo ELEMNT Companion app under "Workouts" > "Choose a route". To transfer the routes to your Wahoo device, you need to push the routes manually, as described in Navigating komoot Tours on Wahoo.
Attention: Since Wahoo is a cycling computer, you can only transfer Tours that have been saved with a sport type related to cycling.
Note: To check the sync status of your activities, tap on the share icon within that specific activity in the Wahoo ELEMNT Companion app.
Tip: The sync of specific Tours is only possible if the Wahoo ELEMNT computer was never set up on WiFi.
Navigating komoot Tours on Wahoo
To navigate a komoot Tour on your Wahoo ELEMNT computer, follow these steps:
- Head to the Wahoo ELEMNT Companion app.
- Go to "Workouts".
- Click "Choose a route".
- Select the Tour you want to navigate.
- Push “Select Route” in the upper right corner.
The Tour will be sent to your Wahoo ELEMNT computer.
After completing a navigation, your Tour will automatically sync to your Wahoo profile and from there to your komoot profile.
Note: The navigation instructions are done by Wahoo.
Disconnecting komoot from a Wahoo ELEMNT computer
If you want to disconnect your komoot and Wahoo profiles, follow these steps:

In the Wahoo ELEMNT Companion app go to "Profile".

Choose "Connected apps".

Select "Komoot" and disconnect.

In the Wahoo ELEMNT Companion app go to "Profile".

Choose "Authorized Apps".
- Select "Komoot" and disconnect.
Once terminated, Wahoo will no longer have access to your komoot account.
