In order to connect your Garmin via Garmin Connect app you need to set up a connection between the your komoot account and your Garmin Connect account. Afterwards, connect your device via Bluetooth to your phone in order to synchronize the Tours. This connection is only possible for certain Garmin devices. Setting up the connection
To set up the connection you need in total three apps on your phone: the komoot app, the Garmin Connect IQ app (here you can download all apps for Garmin) and the Garmin Connect app. After you made sure that you have all three apps installed on your phone, you need to create a Garmin account, if you don’t have one yet. This you can do either on the Garmin websiteor via one of the two Garmin apps. Then you log into the Garmin Connect IQ app and follow the steps below:
Search for komoot in the Garmin IQ App.
Press the Download button
Select your device and accept the requested permissions. A message tells you that the app gets installed with the next synchronization.
Then you go to the Garmin Connect app and log in with your Garmin account details. The synchronization starts automatically when your device is close to your phone and Bluetooth is enabled. You can verify the installation by selecting your device in the Garmin Connect app. The komoot app is now installed on your Garmin device.
Then you open komoot on your Garmin device. You see a code on the screen together with a request to enter this code on the webpage www.komoot.com/connect.
Open this webpage either via you PC or the browser of your phone. There you will be asked to choose your komoot account or to log. After you doing this, a field to enter the Code you see on the screen of your device will appear. Enter the Code there.
Then you will see another page asking you to enter your Garmin login details. Afterwards your device will be connected.
After finishing the login process, a list with your planned Tours from the last 30 days will appear on your Garmin.
Since this connection works via Bluetooth, make sure your Garmin device is always close to your phone when using komoot. As soon as your Tours are downloaded they are available without connection.
Transferring from komoot to Garmin
In the Garmin komoot app you see the list of your planned komoot Tours. You can download them to the device by opening the app, clicking on planned Tours, choosing the Tour you want to download and clicking in the small switch “offline available”. Please note that we only show planned routes not recorded ones.

Number of Tours visible in Garmin
At the moment the connection between Garmin and komoot is set up in a way that the Tours of the last 30 days you have planned on komoot will be synchronized. When setting up the connection those Tours will appear on your Garmin automatically and there is no way you can manually influence this synchronization or prevent it from happening.
Tour upload from Garmin to komoot
When you complete a Tour on your Garmin and afterwards establish the Bluetooth connection again, your completed Tour will automatically be uploaded to your komoot account and will appear among your completed Tours.
Deleting Tours from Garmin device
If you have downloaded a Tour on your Garmin device and after you finished it you want to delete it again, you can do this by moving the "offline available" switch again. This deletes the Tour from the device. You also have the possibility to delete the Tours manually, when connecting your Garmin to your computer via a cable.
Updating Tours on Garmin
If you make a change to a komoot Tour which you already downloaded to your Garmin, the changes you have made in komoot will not automatically update on your Garmin. But when you go to the planned Tour on your Garmin device, you will see a small note next to the updated Tour saying “updated”. You can then update the Tour via the Switch in the Tour.
Garmin devices with WiFi
At the moment the Garmin device needs to be connected to the Garmin Connect app on your Smartphone to be able to download and upload routes. It is not possible to establish a connection via WiFi between, for example, your Garmin device and your computer.
