The best about it: everyone can be a part of it. If you want to add something to the map yourself or have found an error you would like to correct, all you need to do is go to the project's website, and follow the step-by-step guide. With the next map-update, the data will become available in the komoot-map. From thereon, we are using the changes also in our routing. The routing data is adapted usually once per week. To ensure the continuous high quality, this currently is still a manual process.
Hint: Use the key combination CTRL (Apple: CMD) + ALT + click on the map with your left mouse button. This will open the OpenStreetMap view in a new tab. From here, you can directly access the editing mode and make changes. The map layer icon on the right hand will show you details on the map. If you are logged in, you can use the editing mode, to make changes.
I want to report an error, but not change it myself
If you found an error that you don't feel safe enough to correct yourself, go to the OSM website as described above. On the menu on the right-hand side, you can see a speech bubble icon with a plus sign. Click on that, to report an error that will be checked by mappers in that region.
Another hint: If you want to make changes to OSM while on the go, get yourself the app Vespucci OSM Editor. That allows you to make changes or add new features while you are on a Tour.
