Set up the komoot app for Garmin
This guide explains how to install the komoot app or Garmin on your device and connect your Garmin and komoot accounts.
Once connected, you'll be able to access your saved routes directly on your Garmin device and sync activities back to komoot.
Compatibility
Make sure your device is compatible with the komoot app or Garmin by visiting the Connect your Garmin devices with komoot page:
- If your device is compatible, you'll be shown steps to download and connect the komoot app or Garmin
- If your device is incompatible, you will be prompted to connect via Garmin Connect instead

Install the komoot app on your Garmin
Before you get started:
- Install the Garmin Connect app on your smartphone and connect your Garmin device.
- Make sure you can log in to your komoot account.
To install the komoot app or Garmin:
- Open the Garmin Connect IQ Store.
- Search for the komoot app or Garmin and install it on your device.
- Sync your Garmin device to complete the installation.
After installation, you can find the app in your device's widgets or activities list, depending on your Garmin model.
Set up and manage the connection
- Open the komoot app on your Garmin device
- Scroll down to the connection code
- On your computer or smartphone, open the Connect page and confirm the account you're trying to connect
- Enter the code, then grant the requested permissions to complete the connection
- Open the komoot app on your Garmin device
- Continue to scan the QR code with your phone's camera
- Confirm the device and account you're trying to connect
- Grant the requested permissions to complete the connection
During setup, you'll be asked which data you want to sync between komoot and Garmin:
- Activities – imports Garmin activities into komoot.
- Courses – sends saved routes from komoot to Garmin.
To activate the integration, enable at least one of these sync options. You can return to the Connections page at any time to revise these settings.
Tip:
- If your routes do not appear immediately after connecting, sync your Garmin device again via the Garmin Connect app.
- If you experience connection issues, try disabling WiFi on your Garmin, as it may interfere with Bluetooth syncing.
Note: Only one komoot account can be connected to a Garmin Connect account at a time. You can, however, use multiple Garmin devices with the same Garmin Connect account.
Deactivate the integration
If you no longer want your saved routes to sync automatically between your komoot and Garmin accounts, you need to deactivate the integration.
