Connect Samsung Watches to komoot
Use the komoot app for Samsung watches to navigate a planned route with turn-by-turn instructions directly on your watch or to record an activity and upload it to your komoot profile.
Note: Samsung has discontinued support for Tizen watches. If komoot is already installed on a Tizen watch, it will continue to work. If the app is removed, it can't be reinstalled or updated.
Connect your device
Requirements to install komoot:
- Your watch must have access to the Google Play Store and run Wear OS 2 or newer
- Your phone must run Android 8 or newer
If the komoot app can't be downloaded from the Play Store, compatibility isn't guaranteed.
- Open the Google Play Store on your watch
- Search for komoot and install it
- Enable Bluetooth on your phone and watch
- Log in to the same komoot account on both devices
Note: Log in to the same komoot account on your watch and your phone, so your routes and activities stay in sync.
Enable required permissions
For komoot to work correctly on your watch, GPS and location permissions must be enabled.
- Go to Settings > Connections > Location and enable GPS location (not only your wireless location)
- Go to Settings > Apps > Permissions > komoot and enable Location
Navigate a route
You can start navigation from your watch or from your phone. Navigation on the watch works without your phone, using maps and routes stored on the watch.
- Open the komoot app on your watch
- Go to Planned routes and select the route you want to navigate
- Start the navigation
You'll see your route on a map, with turn-by-turn instructions and the stats you choose.
- You can pause, resume, or end navigation on your phone or on your watch
- After finishing, save the activity on your watch. komoot uploads it as soon as your watch is back online
Tip: By default, only the last 10 planned routes are shown on your watch. To navigate an older route, start it from your phone.
