Whether you want to print overview maps, brochures or routes in magazines, here’s how you can use komoot maps correctly in print and digital media.

Attention: Use of the komoot logo in user-facing materials is reserved for official komoot Partners.

Copyright & conditions for using komoot maps

Note: Please ensure that any linked routes or activities remain publicly accessible and are not deleted or set to private after publication.

Required map attribution

Each publication must contain the following reference:

Maplibre | © komoot | Map data © OpenStreetMap Contributors

This reference must appear at least once, preferably within or at the edge of the visible map material.

Reference to komoot content

  • Each publication (flyer, book, poster, magazine, etc.) contains a one-time reference to komoot, at least by means of the komoot logo.
  • Each route, map overview or route description contains the link to the corresponding komoot content in the same font size as the corresponding description or the reference to the corresponding komoot profile.

Creating print maps

Printable maps via komoot web tool

As a partner, you receive access to komoot Web Tools via your partner profile.

You can create simple print maps for the routes in your komoot profile in 300 dpi resolution as a PNG file for further processing and embedding in your print products. You can also download the corresponding elevation profile for print.

Refined print maps via Printmaps.net

komoot routes can also be printed in high-resolution quality by a third-party provider for a fee. You can connect your komoot profile directly via our partner Printmaps.net to create detailed maps and ready-made print products.

Screenshots

You are free to use screenshots if the quality is sufficient for you. The same copyright must also be added in this case.

komoot QR Codes

You can generate a QR code from any planned komoot Route. Simply go to the Route and click on Share, then you will see the QR code. Click on the QR code to access a variant including the komoot logo, which you can download and use. QR codes for Collections are not possible yet.

YouTube videos & maps

If you use screenshots of maps from your komoot Routes or activities or, for example, show a short route planning sequence in the video, please make sure the following copyright notice is clearly visible in the video:

"Maplibre | © Komoot | Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors"

Alternatively, you can include this notice in the video description.

To make it easier for viewers to explore and follow the routes shown in your video, we recommend including a link to one or more of your public komoot Routes or to your komoot profile.
