If you forgot your password or cannot log in, you can request a new password by email. Enter the email address linked to your komoot account and we will send you a new password.


Request the reset

  1. Go to the password reset page
  2. Enter the email address linked to your komoot account and select Send new password
  3. Check your inbox for the reset email and the newly generated password
  1. Open the komoot app
  2. Select Continue with email and enter the email address linked to your komoot account
  3. Select Forgot password? > Reset password
  4. Check your inbox for the reset email and the newly generated password.

Note: Please change your password immediately after logging in.


Not receiving the password reset email?

If you do not receive the reset email within a few minutes, check the following:

  1. Check your spam or junk folder. If you use an email app such as Outlook or Apple Mail, also log in directly to your email provider's website (for example gmail.com, hotmail.com, or web.de) and check the spam folder there.
  2. Search your inbox for emails from notification@komoot.de and make sure to add notification@komoot.de to your contacts or trusted senders list.
  3. Make sure there were no typos when entering your email address.
  4. Request a new password reset email.

If you created your account using Apple, Facebook, or Google, make sure you are using the correct email address linked to that account.

If you chose to hide your email address when signing up with Apple, you must use the private relay email address ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com. For more information on Apple's Hide My Email feature, visit this Apple Support article.

Still no email? In some cases, email delivery to your address may be paused due to a previous bounce or delivery issue. Please share the email address linked to your account so we can take a closer look.


New password doesn't work?

  1. Make sure you are entering the password exactly as shown in the email. Try typing it manually rather than copying and pasting to avoid hidden spaces or extra characters.
  2. Check that no extra spaces were added when copying and pasting.
  3. If you requested multiple resets, only the most recent password will work.
  4. Confirm that you are logging in to the correct komoot account.
