When you sign up for komoot, you get one free region to try out the core features.

How to unlock your free region

To unlock your first region, follow the steps below:

Open the Product page > Unlock free region
Search for the region you want to unlock and click Unlock Now

Open the Maps section under your Profile
Unlocked > Unlock your First Region

komoot will automatically suggest a nearby region, but you can choose any single region you like.

Tip: We recommend unlocking your home region, so you can test komoot anytime.
If you choose a vacation destination as your free region, your testing time may be limited.

Note: Once you redeem your free Single Region, it is permanently linked to your account and cannot be changed by you or by us.

Where can I see which regions I've unlocked?

To check which regions you've unlocked, visit the Your unlocked regions article. You can also review what is currently unlocked at Your komoot Maps.

Can I change my free region after unlocking it?

No. Once you redeem your free Single Region, it is permanently linked to your account and cannot be changed — by you or by us.

Can I unlock a Region Bundle as my free region?

No. Your free region is a Single Region. We cannot replace a free Single Region with a Region Bundle. To unlock a Region Bundle, you can purchase one on the Regions page.
